Meta (META) Stock Jumps on Plan to Rent Out AI Infrastructure

Meta stock jumped after reports it may sell AI computing power to rivals of Amazon and Microsoft.

Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) runs Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and a growing pile of AI infrastructure, and its stock jumped after word leaked that the company wants to sell that AI computing power to outside customers. Shares traded at 615.58 dollars, up 2.77% on the day, in what marks Meta's biggest single-day pop since late January.

Bloomberg reported the company is weighing two paths, letting developers tap Meta-hosted AI models the way they'd use Amazon's Bedrock, or simply renting out raw computing capacity so customers can run their own workloads on Meta's chips and data centers.
