President Donald Trump reported more than $1 billion in crypto related income for 2025, according to his annual financial disclosure, cementing digital assets as one of the most profitable corners of his business empire.
World Liberty Financial Drives the Windfall
The bulk of that fortune traces back to World Liberty Financial, the decentralized finance venture Trump and his family back. The disclosure shows he pulled in more than $500 million from the project through token sales, distributions spread across various cryptocurrency wallets, and the sale of an equity stake in a related holding company. On top of that, he holds World Liberty governance tokens valued above $50 million, a stake that keeps him financially tethered to the venture's future performance.
A Meme Coin Licensing Deal Worth Hundreds of Millions
Separately, Trump reported royalties exceeding $635 million tied to a licensing agreement that let a company use his name and image for Trump branded meme coins. That single arrangement rivals or exceeds many of his longtime real estate holdings in reported value, a sign of how quickly meme coin culture has translated into real income for people willing to lend their name to it.
The filing also notes ongoing Ethereum staking rewards and cryptocurrency holdings, including bitcoin, worth more than $50 million. Taken together, these figures show a portfolio that has moved well past dabbling and into a central pillar of his net worth.
From NFTs to a Personal Fortune
Trump's path into crypto began with NFT collections during his 2024 campaign, then expanded into meme coins and eventually World Liberty Financial. What started as novelty merchandise for supporters has turned into one of the largest single sources of his personal wealth, according to the disclosure.

Crypto Policy and the Question of Conflicts
The disclosure lands as Trump's administration has pushed hard to expand the crypto industry's footprint in Washington. Since taking office, the White House has set up a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, hosted a crypto summit with industry executives, scaled back enforcement actions against major crypto firms, and backed legislation aimed at making the United States the world's leading hub for digital assets, including the GENIUS Act.
That overlap between policy and personal profit has drawn scrutiny from ethics watchdogs and lawmakers who question whether the president's financial stake in crypto shapes the administration's regulatory choices. A White House spokesperson told reporters that neither the president nor his family has ever engaged, or would ever engage, in conflicts of interest, framing his crypto related work as part of a broader push to make the United States, in the spokesperson's words, the crypto capital of the world through executive actions and commonsense policy.
How Much Further Can the Crypto Fortune Grow
With World Liberty Financial still issuing tokens, meme coin royalties still flowing, and staking rewards continuing to accumulate, the disclosure raises an open question about where this income stream tops out, and how closely it will keep tracking the administration's own crypto policy decisions.
